As a developer there are many insights to be considered and preferences to be taken into account but before listening to what others have to say and try to please every single human being on earth, listen to yourself first.
It is more advisable to remove all settings of your programs and applications if it will just cause bad effects on your product. An example of “bad effect” is cellular phones that ran out of batteries fast because of too many settings like backgrounds, font sizes and many more. Developers make applications that are aimed to one view. This means that giving all options to your users and customers would ruin your stand on your own design.

A developer should have an opinion. If you feel that black fits best then why make an option to turn it white? It would be pointless. As the maker of your own product, you have the right to display what is most perfect for your product. Why let people adjust font sizes if you think that size 12 is perfect for your interface? Why bother trying to change your vision, your outlook, your style and your design?

You are the creator so you should be the one to know and decide what best suits your creation. By giving people the freedom to choose their own design, you are giving up on your thought. If people do not like the things you exhibited, they can shift to other products. You cannot please everyone. Start out by impressing yourself with your own work first and satisfying your own tastes. After you have achieved self-satisfaction, you’ll see that people would also love your work.

You’ll just make your creation a trash if you put in too many settings. Giving people options is good but giving them too many options is very bad. Stick to your own opinion and let people enjoy your vision on your inventions. Many big developers of gadgets and techie products became successful because of their courage to step up their game by using their own ideas.

Once you try to please everyone, you’ll end up pleasing no one at all. As a developer you should have pride with your work and confidence that people would appreciate it. It all starts with yourself. Make your creation and go out of your shell. Develop your creations with your vision.
